Last weekend the newest edition to the staff at Arden Photography Lisa and I photographed Anne & Charlie's Wedding at Shades Mountain Presbyterian Church with the reception to follow at Shoal Creek Country Club. Congratulations Anne & Charlie I hope you enjoy your honeymoon in Tanzania Africa!

Anne selected Dorothy Mc Daniel's Flower Market to provide the flowers for her wedding and reception. Eric at Dorothy's is favorite of mine! Thanks for making my job easy by providing great atmosphere Eric!

An old haunt revisited....Recently I went to Sloss Furnace to photograph Claire's bridal portraits. It has been so long since I have been to Sloss and WOW! Claire's portraits take my breath away. It is so invigorating to revisit a location after a long time has past and see it through fresh eyes. The trip to Sloss Furnace really prompted an artful eye for these images.

This week was the Kick off for NBC 13 Throws a Wedding. Guess who NBC 13 selected as their offical wedding photographer....ARDEN Photography. I am so excited about this event. It is an honor to have been asked to participate and you can only imagine how excited I was when I found out I am the only photographer involved!
Please go to NBC 13's website and vote for your favorite couple!

Last week I had a chance to photograph Anne Garland & Andrew for their engagement portraits. We had an awesome time and they really let me have creative freedom with the images. You know I love that. The location where these photographs were taken are in the same place that they got engaged. I love the raw appeal to this spot!

A few days ago I photographed Jack and Eliza at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and it was so much fun. They are really the cutest twins! View their images at JACK & ELIZA

My good friend Melissa Hill of Wedding Etc stopped in today and we did the layout for her new ad in the Junior League Magazine. It is crazy how digital photography has changed the world. I never knew I would be a graphic artist too.

Where in the world are we? This Summer has been one about road trips! To end our season with a bang we made a driving trip to Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. On our trip we photographed many places for "Cooking with Paula Deen" magazine where the similarities between Low Country Cuisine that Paula is known for and Down East Cuisine of the Canadians are so similar. Recipes might vary slightly and I tried beets for the first time but the heart of a good meal still revolves around great conversation and of coarse a lot of butter.

The calm Atlantic was a pleasant change from hurricane season down South.
Brett and "Gramps" Murdock sharing a toast on the lobster boat. Down East they call them wobblely pops! MomAnne and Brett

MomAnne and Me! This is the place in the world where they have they largest changes with the tides...70ft WOW!

Murdock waves "Hi" and yes we put all those miles on our car...But they are made for driving and we really did! Sunrise at the Atlantic is AMAZING you know it has to be for me to get up that early!

My obsession with Church's... I can't stop taking images of them. Maybe one day I will do a book.
